Thoresby Vale Infrastructure Delivery

Delivery of 2km of new infrastructure to unlock up to 1,000 new homes on the former Thoresby Colliery site. Works included extensive remediation, earthworks, and the construction of new access routes, drainage, and utilities to support residential development.

The project team managed complex ground conditions, including capping mine shafts, removing underground structures, remediating hydrocarbon-impacted soils, and constructing a “cat moat” watercourse along the site’s slope. Bentley provided agile cost modelling to evaluate design options and identify the most efficient solutions. A procurement strategy was developed to align with the client’s appetite for limited risk exposure, supported by detailed programme analysis to ensure the contractor effectively planned and coordinated the works.
