The Project

A crucial new strategic link road in the city, unlocking valuable employment land and allowing much-needed alleviation of congestion, including:

  • A new viaduct over the West Coast Mainline
  • Two bridge crossings over the Trent and Mersey Canal
  • New junction on the A500 trunk road
  • Primary infrastructure through a major employment site

  • Development of a Transport Business Case for the Project which secures around £27 million from the Department for Transport
