Etruria Valley City Centre Link Road

Bentley Project Management has been employed at an early stage of project development and delivery to assist Stoke-on-Trent City Council in the delivery of the Etruria Valley City Centre Link Road. The £50 million flagship scheme is the largest capital project within the Council’s portfolio and is funded through the recent Growth Deal signed between Central Government, the Stoke and Staffordshire Local Enterprise Partnership and the Council.

The scheme will deliver a new road access from the A500 Trunk Road to the City Centre linking the Etruria Valley Employment Site, which is the major employment site in the city and a key part of the Ceramic Valley Enterprise Zone proposals.

Bentley Project Management is currently providing a suite of services to the Council including:

  • Project Director responsible for the delivery of the overall scheme
  • Leading the Team responsible for Design, Planning, Cost Management and Land Assembly
  • Liaison and Negotiation with Key Funders, Landowners and Stakeholders
  • Development of a Transport Business Case for the Project which secures around £27 million from the Department for Transport

The scheme features some complex engineering challenges including a new road bridge over the West Coast Mainline Railway, significant flood mitigation works to a main river, works to a major trunk road, new canal bridge crossings and land remediation.
